Course Overview
Precalculus A is the first of two courses designed to prepare students for the study of calculus and advanced mathematics. The course begins with a review of essential algebraic concepts and progresses into an in-depth exploration of functions and their graphs. Students study polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, logarithmic, and piecewise functions, while also engaging with quadratic functions in the context of conic sections. Sequences and series are introduced to expand students' understanding of mathematical patterns and progression. A consistent emphasis on real-world applications highlights the relevance of mathematics to everyday life, fostering both critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Instructional Approach
Instruction balances conceptual development with procedural fluency, using graphing, modeling, and problem-based learning to deepen understanding. Students engage in discussions, apply technology for analysis, and connect abstract concepts to authentic examples, building confidence in both reasoning and application.
Outcome
