Course Overview

AP United States Government and Politics offers students a college-level introduction to the political principles, institutions, and processes that shape American democracy. Equivalent to a first-year political science course, this class challenges students to critically examine the beliefs and philosophies that influenced the U.S. Constitution, the structures and functions of government, and the political behaviors that drive decision-making.
